A LITTLE COMPETITION INFO:
The ICCA’s are put on by Varsity Vocals and is a nationwide competition of collegiate a capella groups. When groups apply, they send in a raw recording of 3 songs and it is decided if they made the first cut. (we did, of course) Then each group to move on is placed in a quarterfinal in one of 6 regions. (We’re in the Midwest) On the day of the competition, each group is alloted no more than 12 minutes to showcase the best they have to offer. This is a capella that will send chills down your spine and cover your body with goosebumps. Each performance is filled with soft and loud, high and low, and amazing moments that are sure to wow you! At the end of the night, there is a winner, a runner-up, and a second runner-up, along with awards like best arrangement, best soloist, and best choreography. The top two groups move on to the Regional Semifinal where they square off against the top two from all the quarterfinals in the region. Then you can guess where it goes from there, the regional winners square off at the National Competition held in New York City!
You can visit the Varsity Vocals website for all this and more information on the competition!
Hoping to see a lot of green in the audience tomorrow night,
