History
In the fall of 1996, Phil Johnson had a dream…a dream to create an eight member, all male a cappella group that would one day be a leading group in the nation. That dream became the Accafellas.
The Accafellas began with four original members. Soon after, they doubled their numbers.
The Accafellas did not waste any time and immediately started performing their style of a cappella pop music. They performed all over campus, making as many contacts as possible.
They have performed at weddings, business meetings, competitions, dorms, sorority houses, and probably your mom’s house!
Their first shining moment came in 1998 at the University of Michigan’s Monsters of A Cappella, where they received a standing ovation from a pro-wolverine crowd. After this, there has been nothing but success.
The Accafellas have competed in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) for 5 years. They have won awards at these competitions for their arrangements and soloists.
The Accafellas have put out four albums, their most recent CD being Volume IV, of which they are extremely proud.
Be sure to keep up with the Accafellas as they are making the future of a cappella music!
